Element 3: Student Behavioral, Social, and Emotional SupportsIn order to achieve MUSD’s SS/HS goal of increasing behavioral, social, and emotional supports for students MUSD will expand and fully implement the 40 Developmental Assets™ program initiated in the 2006-2007 school year. Our objective will be to increase the total number of both internal and external assets for students by 5. In addition, we will implement the developmentally appropriate bullying prevention program: Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. In addition, we will expand the after school program to serve the students at both Shull High School and the Community Day School. An After-school Mentoring Liaison will be hired to assist in implementing the mentoring program, connecting at-risk students with qualified mentors, and identifying additional after-school opportunities. Embedding SEL curriculum in our education mantle and expanding after-school opportunities will encourage our students to engage in pro-social behavior and reduce aggressive behavior.
